More evidence that big enterprises and big brands are turning to social networks in order to drive forward their marketing efforts:
Today, Cisco launched a new media and entertainment software platform at the annual Consumer Electronics Show. Dan Scheinman, the Cisco exec behind the new platform, made clear why the company is trying this new product route:
“Scheinman believes that social networking is the most important way for marketers and big media companies to reach consumers. Consumers are using sites such as YouTube and Facebook to share media, like videos, music and pictures…[and] fans get a more interactive experience.”
It tells you something when a Silicon Valley stalwart and innovator like Cisco embraces social networking as a go-to marketing tool.
