There’s no stopping Facebook (its user base, that is)

By Nikki Serapio July 10th, 2009

As reported by Inside Facebook:

By all accounts, Facebook is continuing to grow at a breakneck pace. This week we can add one more proof point to the mix:

According to Compete.com, in June 2009 Facebook’s unique U.S. audience grew by 10.7% to 91.7 million unique visitors. 10+% growth in 30 days — that’s amazing.

Here’s another way of framing this: no other marketing channel can boast of this kind of growth and health. Not the major banner ad networks. Not television, magazines, or newspapers, of course. And not any search engine (if we were to define their user growth as captive ad audience growth).

The stat above mirrors another key Facebook growth number: more than 8 million users become fans of Pages each day. Not long ago, Facebook itself pegged this metric at 4 million each day.

Needless to say, marketers on Facebook continue to have great reasons to rejoice.
